Kim Delaney, an American actress best known as Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series for which she was awarded an Emmy Award. The most notable role she has played is her performance in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. As the sole daughter to a top executive from the United Auto Workers and a housewife, Delaney grew up with her four brothers. As a child, Delaney fantasized of becoming an official reporter for the court. She began modelling in highschool and eventually gained commercial opportunities when she relocated to New York. In 1981, she starred as a naive teen in the film All My Children. Delaney has appeared in a variety of films, television movies and dramatics since then. Her career as a professional has been better than her personal life. The accomplished actor has been battling alcoholism and she has experienced two failed marriages. In 2005, she lost the custody of her son.
